Soul Winter

Winter has hit with blowing snow
and it matches how I feel
The coldness seeps in wherever I go
and the sadness is always so real

The holidays are coming
and I am numb most of the time
it feels like my soul is storming
while I pretend to be fine

Working and living is what I know to do
but a huge part of my family is gone
and the hole is so very new
It just feels so wrong

So, by day I am smiling and trying to be
a person who cares and is kind
but by night, it seems to me,
the world crashes in on my mind

Not only is healing is a long process but it is an art form. I hope you find a very special way to cope and make sense of this pain, Kathleen. Hugs xx
