Soul Searching

Today, I sit and write
Write what I think is wrong and right
I have seen the sun rise on days so bright
And the sleeping stars in the soft night
I have been around for a few years
Shared with people my dreams and fears
I am just trying to find the true me
Trying to see how another man’s eyes see
Of course it doesn’t matter at all
Judgment isn’t made by men so tall
I was thinking about who I am today
And how much of me will truly stay
Will all my good deeds fade and be a waste?
Will I become sin behind a human face?
A person’s deed is seen and felt by few
But it can also change the world into something new
I wonder what I will do to make the world great
Maybe nothing, maybe something, I will leave it to fate
The most beautiful thing is the dreams of a kid
Behind the bright and shining eyes they are hid
I try to remember the dreams I once had
Before they were crushed by this world gone bad
I remember I was going to make this world a friendly place
Make everyone happy and fly into outer space
I think people need to embrace their dreams more
And then one day there will be no more war
I know that some people are good and some are bad
Many people are happy and many more are sad
These things are always on the mind
Someday, I hope the answers I will find
So on these long lazy days I sit
Searching my soul, finding the pieces that fit
