Soul

My soul, my soul
i wear it on my sleeve
this cloth i have woven
my experience and my dreams

the thread abundant
the yarn unrolled daily
a string for each memory
a design for every dream

this shirt
as elastic as they come
it's size ever changing
until my life be done

and the wears
unable to be shed
by any humanly means
or, at least, this what it would seem

for when you find
that person
meant to be with
for all time

your woven shirt
you share with them
to warm them
close to thine

you wear each other's clothing
you wear it with deep pride
always having it present
no matter how tough the ride

even though it will be rigid
like a gravel road
this cloth will never unravel
it is bound, formed new mold

though much may be lost
on route with cries and fears
you prevail over conflict
throughout the many years
