Soul

The Soul

An abyss or a bright green plain.
An endless blue sky, or vast empty sea.
A home for the weary, the weak.
A fortress for the strong, full of belief!
A form of escape from the heart,
Yet the heart a key part to play.
A tough, rigid and immovable spirit,
Yet a soft, fickle piece to sway.

It’s simple, yet complicated
Stubborn, yet free…
Like good or bad, right or wrong
It lays the foundation of who you ought to be!
When you search for it, it hides.
But when you are desperate for it, it bursts
You are not burdened by it
Yet it can bring out your worst!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Wow! This is deep and profound. A very good one to put in the soul contest I think :-D
