Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word

Yesterday I was on such a high
Today I just want to sit and cry
Why did I say that cutting word?
Forgive me please I’m just a bird

Sometimes we misinterpret what’s been said
We get it wrong it’s all in our head
Saying sorry is really really hard
What was said caught me off guard

You’ve been really good to me
Helping to set my spirit free
Good times I hope we can still share
I write these words because I care
