Sorry Mom

Most graffiti I have seen Consists of tags or pictures. Messages are therefore not The commonest of fixtures. Yet today, upon a wall Not used to spray-paint inking, Was “Sorry Mom” in boldest red, Which really got me thinking. Was it sarcastic or sincere? Was guilt the motivation? And would that mother ever see Her child’s capitulation? We can’t know what was in the mind Of who scrawled out each letter, But I am sure a phone call Would convey that thought much better.

Unless she can’t say it to her. Perhaps a death…who knows. Great Ilene!

Oh, how I agree with you, Ilene. But, maybe the kid felt like he couldn't make contact just yet. Anyway, it was a step in the right direction, I'm thinking. Good poem, Ilene.

that's cute. Perhaps they were apologizing to all mothers, so went for the wider audience??

Many children do not live up to their mother's expectations, and many mothers do not listen to their children so they have no idea at all what their children think, want, or believe. But you have highlighted a common problem on World Mental Health Day! Aloha!
