sorry I was here first

sorry, I was here first, she said, plopping down
the mouse was irritated, at this person, new in town
she looked like a human, they are arrogant you see
think they deserve better than you or me

He thought of biting her arm or leg for a bit
She smiled at him then, that intelligent chit.
He smiled back, and found another mushroom house.
Knowing he had been bested, that humble mouse.
