Sorrow

steamy love 
                affair 
              ends 
              fate has
spun its web
they are caught 
       in a net 
of 
dying 
       dreams
No more walks together 
          in the park 
no more movies
          on Saturday night
sorrow becomes
       the 
         fulcrum 
                 of their lives
Stars still come out at night
After the blazing sun
             has faded into shadow
A love affair ends
ashes float in icy pools 
waiting to be stirred
  by the north wind
