Sophie

I am sick
so she lays beside me
tolet me know that she is there
she looks into my eyes
those soft wide brown eyes
and they seem to express understanding
of the pain that I am feeling

she's like some kind of animal conduit
chanelling my pain and helping me forget
my bodys aches
as I am able to stroke her white silky fur
and smell her musky scent that speaks to me
of endless fields of grass
of streets lined with heavily branching trees
of stopping by the pet store
begging for biscuts and attention
of chasing frantic squirrels back into their home

she's some kind of gift that is sent from the angels
wrapped in a tiny package
that is all ears, wet nose, and barks
unconditional affection
molded into a selfless being.

This is a remarkable read! Your tendency to thoroughly describe things lends to a successful conveyance of meaning and feelings, letting the readers know the writer. Marvelous! Michael

When I was on the treatment for Hep c I was very ill due to the side affects - our dog lady bug got me through some real hard days - she understood and she was a blessing - Sounds like you share the same love - Blessings always
