Sophia's Poem

SOPHIA’S POEM Cheerios across the floor Pen marks on the walls Paint on my new carpet I can’t take it all! Books touched by jammy fingers Chocolate on my cat Boogies on my sofa Who could live like that? Bedtime’s like a war zone Toothache, sore head, sore thumb Can’t sleep, not tired, I’m hungry I want to see my Mum! Start over in the morning The Cheerios again! One sock, one shoe, no jumper Late for school again! Then there are those moments When we spend time alone Colouring or building blocks And I see how she’s grown She’s the one I need Whenever I am blue No ones hugs can love me The way Sophia’s do For a little girl of seven She’s really full of wit And because of all she gives me The mess? I can live with it!
