Sonrise
Time stands still, the Shadow from the past
Entwines two covenants, heralded at last.
The dawn of life breaks through the cold,
And lingers round, embracing the fold.
Singing sweet lullabies, His head to rest,
Cold and shivering, she holds Him to breast.
He sleeps the good sleep, becalmed and still,
Prepared now for victory on Calvary's hill.
A new dawn will rise, towards heaven's skies,
The glory of the Fathers' Son shining through.
Behold ye the very Lamb of God
Who came to redeem myself and you.
