Song For the Sleepless
Whispers caress the silky night,
Silent prayers in midflight,
Clouds parted by an unseen hand,
Shining moonlight upon a darkened land,
What a sight to behold,
As the silver flower unfolds,
Adding essence to a shrouded tryst,
The lure of such beauty I dare not resist,
As tides and waves pay the toll,
A mesmerising murmur quickens my soul,
A restless aching, a need for more,
I close my eyes as my feet leave the floor,
Floating freely further away,
Here will I remain until the break of day.
