Somewhere Between

The silence between two heartbeats
The void between a breath of air
That's what I am without you
The empty before the stare

The space between two seconds
A thought, that fades away
The place between right and wrong
This hell I'm doomed to stay

The maybe between yes and no
The lost before the found
The darkness between life and death
The hollow without the sound

The sunshine without a shadow
A storm without the rain
The promise before the lie
The scar before the stain

The air between two footsteps
The falling dream before the wake
This pain before the teardrops
Is more than I can take

Hey, Larry. Did some research on this "enigma" word. Please disregard it's definitely not you. I'm dropping that word from my vocab. Sorry, hope I didn't offend you, pal. Rgds Ralph

Wow, how profound and poignant. Awesome write, my friend. I was going to say your an enigma, but I'm not sure what that means! Just a word I heard somebody use one time and it sounded like a complement. Mr. Webster didn't help me much. So if it's a complement please accept, if not disregard. Wow what a bunch of dribble - my attempt at humor. Have a good one, Ralph.
