Something's Got To Give

"Something's Got to Give"
B. Jacobs

 Everyday, something else goes wrong
I fear and wonder how can I go on
I live in a world of disappointment
Nothing ever seems to go away
Just another habit I got to break
Guess it's time for the pity to join in

  Something's got to give
Before I give up, before I give in
Sick of crying and all of the pain
That won't go away, another headache
When is it my time to win?
Something's got to give.

 I give everyone my advice
It's time I realized
That it's time to listen to myself
Work and work, and barely see a dime
When will it be time
To check out of this hell?

 I'm praying-I'm begging
I can't take it anymore.
I'm waiting-anticipating
To give my little...and for once get back more.

I like the repetition of the poem. Have you thought about trying out the villanelle form? It lends itself well to tortured, circuitous imagery and I feel like this poem would do well in it.
