Something Special

I lost something special
Just when I was at the threshold
The dark forces took hold
Many a time this has been told

Knowing now that new hands embrace
What was once mine this elegant gift of grace
Mesmerized I was the moment I faced
These thoughts I often retrace
The pleasure of leather and lace

A connection shared by one who was true
Transformed and taken by this evil shrew
It was all because of you this evil in her grew
Cruelly abused by the family she knew

Attracted to negative energies attraction
The alcohol is a chemical reaction
Be her method of usual distraction
Granting momentary satisfaction

Recognizing that the love of oneness is true
Does not leave me feeling blue
For loving still holds harder the glue
Refueling my spirit a new

To be patient for this is no game
Nor do I seek favor and fame
For loves fire overcomes the pain
No matter how far the distance you name

So, no matter where life carries you
No matter it is whatever you do
From stones and bullets by you
My love will always remain with you

Very powerful, searing poem, Stephen. The brilliance of the self-awareness is stunning. A great testament to love and perseverance. Audacious write, but beautifully expressed. Kudos, and welcome back. Love and peace to you.

For loving still holds harder the glue - deep words. May we all hold on to love, no matter the cost. Nice write, you're something special too.
