Something About Night

There is something about night Something I just can,t shake Something heavier than light Something very much at stake From night's deep dye they made The ebony of my dayless skin Wheresoever I go I carry a shade Of the ancient curse of other's sin And that much night I can bear It is walking at night that I fear When someone's standing ground there Because I do not belong anywhere The law was made against the night And it went wheresoever I went It embodies a deep, deeper spite Than hatred can conjure or vent.
