Somehow

Interest peaked through desire
Suddenly exhaustion subsides
The learning makes you feel higher
The wake of realization obides

Then nothing changes though tried
The will can't apply what you know
No new learning can provide
The changes needed to grow

You inevitably start to back slide
Character defects reappear
Weakness strips you of pride
Adding more shame to your fear

So you double down on effort
Prayer and mental faculties
Triple down on help, action,
Trust and positive realities

And foot tapping anxiously await
Focusing attentions on the now
And trust your arrival will be late
Knowing grace will restore you somehow

I like it - I really do! It has a "Foot-tapping" sort of rhythmic beat about it...that I find most appealing. Very nicely penned! My best regards, Richard. :) john P.S A much deserved seven!
