Some Small Seed

What if I were to be some small seed
 Who later when those who are in need
 Will become fine food for them to eat
 I gave it to them and it was my treat.

 Thoroughly it was enjoyed by everyone;
 After being eaten and we were done
 We put all leftover seeds into a jar
 Saw them burst forth like a shining star.

 Oh how happy we all had just become
 Now others in need could have some
 And did you know that each descendent
 On the previous one is always dependent.
