Some People

Why do some people like to put others down 
When they should be lifting others up off the ground 
Why do some people speak harsh words with so much zeal 
When the words they speak should help someone to heal
Why do some people spread lies and gossip that they hear 
When what is said is thoughtless and insincere 
Why do some people judge by the color of one's skin 
When they should be looking at the soul that lives within 
Why do some people take but never give 
When giving may help someone to live 
Why do some people always seem to complain 
When joy and good things they should proclaim 
Why do some people seek joy through material things 
When care and kindness is what pulls the heart strings 
Why do some people have hate in their hearts 
When unconditional love is what they should impart 
Why do some people live in a negative world 
When there is so much beauty and goodness to behold

I myself have been guilty of some of these but I'm trying to be more aware of my behavior & be a better version of myself! :)
