Some Dreams Aren'T Meant To Be

I haven’t got a home, been walking these sidewalks nearly two weeks. It wasn’t only memories, but the fame and fortune that I’d seek. Found me an old guitar, sat down and I learned how to play. My parents told me son, you’d be better off on your knees to pray. CHORUS Some dreams are not meant to be, Open your eyes and you will see, Take a look around at you and me, Some dreams are not meant to be. Well I came into memphis, sure I was gonna make it to the top. Gonna hit the big time, and my music was never going to stop. Those bright lights were calling me,come on boy lets go downtown. But these busy city streets, will make a country boy almost drown. CHORUS Some dreams are not meant to be, Open your eyes and you will see, Take a look around at you and me, Some dreams are not meant to be. My whiskey bottles empty, ain’t got enough money to pay my bills. Wish that I was home, walking with my girl in those Alabama hills. All the clubs and the parties, somehow I seemed to lose my way. So I hung my head, wiped the tears and said Lord take me back to yesterday. CHORUS Some dreams are not meant to be, Open your eyes and you will see, Take a look around at you and me, Some dreams are not meant to be. CHORUS 2 Some dreams are not meant to be, Your better off praying on your knees, Look at what it”s done to me, Some dreams are not meant to be. BY MARTY LYNN WEST
