Solo Journey

I followed a stream, beginning on a mountain top that turned into a cascading fall, flowing down on sun beaten rocks, My gaze was drawn into a mist of beautiful hues – memorized, I walked without thought of where the stream was leading to. So down and down I went my way then suddenly the sky looked very gray, With no knowledge of where I was going I walked on – day to day. Then the sky became a frightening black but there was no way of turning back. The gentle breeze was now a frightful wind, I felt as a stranger in desperate need of a friend. I was one – and I was alone and was caught walking, isolated, and unknown. Hopeless was I, and drowning in fear, I pleaded for someone “get me out of here!” Then the wind died down to a quiet breeze which softly fluttered and swayed the trees. The sky overhead became very light, and the rays of the sun made everything so bright. As I followed the path down along the stream I felt as I was walking a dream; there it was, the mouth of the sea – is it here that I could walk into eternity? {This poem was written before I became a believer in Jesus Christ.} Jn 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Mt 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
