Solitude of Silence

Solitude of Silence
         Dr Ranjit Dutta

In vacant room of my heart
I find my place where
Words have fled and
Silence takes the space
To breathe.
There is no noise,
No sound,
Only just quiet liberty.

My mind is empty too
My heart sands still
Nothing to share
No feelings to fulfill.

The world outside
Recedes from view
Leaving only silence
Pure and true.
Sometimes words can
Weigh us down
And silence lifts us
Without a sound.
No explanation
No justification
Only the simplicity of
Empty spaces.

In nothingness
I found my voice
A whisper quiet,
A heartfelt choice
To let go of words,
To release the din
And find solace
On the silence within.
