I contemplate in solitude, Not one false comfort gathered round; Away from all that's harsh and rude, I contemplate in solitude. Enthralled, I sit in lassitude, Though fettered hopes have pressed around; I contemplate in solitude, Not one false comfort gathered round. From the painting, "Solitude," (Above) by Lord Frederick Leighton. (Also Second image down in link.) http://proverbs14verse1.blogspot.com/2008/04/tearing-down-our-homes.html

Love this Isaiah-- how refreshing to not have "..a false comfort gathered round." I have just read your Biography-- it resonates my history and sentiments too-- I started writing poetry in Feb. 2013-- also a progression from short stories. I try to use many of my posts to glorify our Lord and Savior too.

I can relate so well to this. I definitely like to have my peace and quiet, too! Especially, when I want to write my poetry, I have to get rid of any and all distractions. Another fantastic poem, Isaiah! I loved it! .....By the way, I responded to your soupmail!

One of the best Triolets I have seen! I will check out the painting when I get a chance. I have always loved solitude and find I get extremely restless if I don't have a good hour to myself each day.

My friend there is a magazine asking for Ekphrasis, In Gilded Frame, our fifth anthology for 2013, invites original and previously unpublished poetry in the theme, Ekphrasis, to its pages. For this anthology we are looking for poetic reactions to the art, not just poetic descriptions of the art, though we will consider those as well. Please include the title of the art work, the year it was created, and the artist's name with each piece submitted.

Just the word '"solitude" on it's own brings a sense of peace. I love the lyrical flow you used.
