Soldiers

If their cause is not good Then their government has a heavy reckoning When all those heads, arms and legs blown off in battle Join together at a later day and cry we died at such a place Some crying for a doctor Some for their wives and children left behind them Few die well that die in battle For how can they when blood is their argument Now if these men do not die well It is a black day for their government Respect to W.S.

i liked it,i was a soldier earlier in life and my grandfather was an ex pow during ww2 so war has a profound impact on me, even though i've never officially been in one.of course living and breathing dying and bleeding in this evil age just making it to work could be considered war. my heart goes out to soldiers 1st

Dear Nigel, we are often told that we go to war to protect freedom, but that is not always the case. Right now, we seem to be fighting for oil and many wars have been faught over religion as well. It's a sad state of affairs for our military, especially the Vietnam veterans who did not return to a hero's welcome. It is quite a sad image you penned so compellingly in your poem. Thanks for sharing. Love, Carolyn
