Soldier Born and Bred
Soldier Born and Bred
He was an honorable soldier born and bred,
Who into big battle many soldiers had led;
With great honor and full of much dignity;
We are here now to experience his eulogy.
Cold casket by a draped flag was covered,
And high overhead an eagle had hovered;
Twenty one shots rang through the air;
Soldier's soul now was no longer there.
From here to heaven his soul has gone,
And with each day there is a new dawn;
Stars shine brightly and glow everywhere;
God is there treating us with much care.
From the grave site we slowly would leave;
God in heaven His soul is sure to receive;
To exist and God are always by His side;
There where God wants us all to abide.
