Soldier

Soldier

The sounds of guns going off,
Bullets whizzing by my head,
Pain rushes down my my spine,
I fall to the ground,
with blood trickling down,
the feel of puddled blood,
one by one dripping off of my stomach,
onto the cold dead grass, much heavier than water,
the blood keeps coming,
I can’t control the shake and pain,
I stare at the blue sky,
Boom!Bang! I feel like i’m deaf,
My eyes close,
When my eyes open to a snowy white ceiling,
I look to the left, and to the right,
I hear yells saying Dad! Dad!,
I look at my stomach,
A bandage is wrapped around my cold, pained body,
As I take the bandage off,
Tears run down my cheek,
I remember the feel of the trickling blood,
I am scarred for life,
I look up and thank God for his generosity,
And for the life that I still have.
