Soft Sadness

Soft sadness
Is visiting

I don’t know why
But she speaks through the crackling of my voice
The dew in my eyes

Through my nonchalant mood, extra energy, staying busy
But she doesn’t linger

I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning recently
Out with the old
In with the new

That’s not really true
But the extra cleaning is real
Then I baked salmon and steamed a few vegetables for
My meal

After eating
I sat on the couch and just chilled
And I guess soft sadness too, had her fill
