Soft Feelings
Soft feelings must never upset my boat;
It must sail uninterrupted as ought,
Let it to the whole world be heard this trumpet clear
That yummy things are for timid men,
Brave ones wrestle to the end
And never even the slightest bend,
Even when flames of life sear
Nor obey the wicked behests of fear.
And to the blessed end of my life
I shall never be cowed by any decree of strife;
Calmly knowing what to do,
I'll fight through and through
Until it's mine the golden crown,
And it's behind the ominous cloud of fret and frown!
