So You Think You Know Me

So you think you know me

24/04/2018

So you think you know me
By the smile that I project.
My happy face is what you see,
So my thoughts I can protect.

This book is shrouded deep
Down in depths out of reach.
Encrusted with coral, in a heap
Of memories left by the sun to bleach

Like currents on the ocean floor
Eroding slowly at my defences.
The smile cracks, the minds plankton pour
Over the lips, breaking through the trenches.

So you think you know me
By my crooked smile.
Swim with my minds tempest sea
With patience, for it may take a while.
