So small
I'm sailing in the infinite ocean,
It's dark and the sky is full of bright stars,
I'm feeling the waves' violent motion,
And I'm looking at the red, shiny Mars.
I wonder how it feels to walk in there,
If the soil is sandy, or sharp or dry,
I wonder how it feels to breath the air,
I wonder if on Mars my eyes can cry.
And how does it feel to be in a place,
So far away from everything I know,
And how does it feel when you fly in space,
When you look at the earth so far below.
And how every single light that you see,
Comes from a house where stranger people live,
Where words are exchanged and sometimes agree,
Where people make mistakes and then forgive.
How we are so small in the universe,
And although we are as small as a dot,
Without us somebody's life would be worse,
We often forget we matter a lot.
