So Simple

I sit at the bar alone and hold my drink
It’s a slow night and I have time to think
Our last words were hard and I regret each one
Is it really true that our love is now done?

It was so simple when we had just begun
A working man’s girl who liked fun
But as we got older life got in the way
What do I do now – beg you to stay?
