So Liquid the Echoes
The sea and the sky wander quietly grey
As down secretive lanes the day wanders away
Into emerald green pages and streams of dark blue
And wherever I look there are pages of you,
I hear whisper on whisper and dream upon dream
Just like jewels adrift in their Summer day gleam,
As your laughter still echoes its weight on my soul
Where it tears me asunder, and yet keeps me whole.
So still feel these resonant moments of mine
As my dreams and my memories softly combine
Into rainbows of colour and tinctures of shade
Like excuses for every mistake I have made,
And yet how we learn all the lessons of fate
Makes it easier to sort out life’s love from its hate,
While a heart full of love behind eyes of dark blue
Makes it easy to pick out the reasons of you.
So liquid the echoes that bathe me once more
Like silk conversations from another shore,
Yet echoes that breathe you are different again
Like sweet magical potions that take away pain,
And whenever my spirit felt left in the shade
I remembered the glimpses of heaven we made
And in heaven sent wonder I met you once more
In a sunset we shared in the land of before…
