So Late To Return a Smile

I looked for a smiling face on the whole earth, One day I saw a little girl looking through a window, she smiled at me, What else could be so alluring to me than that smile, I was about to return her smile, All on a sudden a tempestuous wind was blown And shut the window on her face, A sadness deepened around me, I muttered my apology to dear little girl for being so late to return her smile.
