So Good To See You Tonight
During a brief step outside into the night air,
I felt the light and was forced to turn, stop, and stare.
The sky was bright again with light enough to share.
For days and days, and night after night, the Western
skies were not at all bright but dim with the feel of blight;
and the sun, overwhelmed with soot and smoke, was blood red.
The moon was also blood red in the unhealthy breezeless night skies.
Our days were clogged with unsightly smoke that dropped like snow flakes.
So when I looked up at the bright and smiling moon, it was as if we read
each others' mind and said, "It's so good to see you so clearly tonight".
