So Delicate

So delicate
By Michelle Morris

So delicate, our heartstrings
So easily twisted and broken
Hearts and minds and souls
Confused by words unspoken

So delicate, our souls sigh
When we think of one another
Our loved ones here and long gone
The mysteries of our loving

So delicate, our mind's eye
Those memories we hold on to
Ephemeral and just out of reach
When we're old and they're forgotten

So delicate, our silver threads
As they reach across the Universe
Tangled up and messy connections
Between Heaven and Earth

So delicate, yet stronger than forever
We are one heart, one soul, one mind
We started off in the cradle of stardust
And we shall be around for all time
