So Beautiful

You were so beautiful yesterday, When the air smelled of wildfires, When a nostalgic fog painted the city with sepia When I got a flat tire. You were so beautiful yesterday, When a cold morning wrapped us in its chilly blanket, When our silhouettes glided through the parking lot floodlights, With our fingers entwined in an amorous fight, And a rare car would bid us farewell with its sleepy headlights. You were so beautiful… Yesterday.
