Snow Dreams
When the snow flakes fall and hit my face,
I look up at time and space.
I feel the joy that is childhood,
and I let go of everything where I stood.
I remember the snow and what it was all about,
when school was canceled and you rushed out.
We didn't bundle up, even though it was cold,
we just ran out and played, because we would never get old.
With our sleds in hand, we stood at the top of the hill,
looking down the mountain, and building up the thrill.
We were carefree and it was perfect that way,
the only thing we wanted, was for it to never end that day.
Racing up and down and declaring a winner,
the hardest part of the day was washing your hands for dinner.
It was so cold out, that the moment froze in my mind,
this is one past time, I'll never leave behind.
