Snow Day

The cat jumps off the bed. I wish he would wake her up instead. I sneak in. I almost trip over a bin. Why am I being quiet now? I have to wake her, anyhow. I see her roll away. Which makes me not want to stay. But I must give her a shake. So she will be awake. In time for school today. I wish there was a different way. But then I think to check the forecast. It’s snowy and overcast. The school is empty, the school is closed! So I don’t make her get her school clothes. I almost caused a disaster. But the snow comes down faster. The cat climbs back on the bed. I pet his soft fur, which is red. Then I leave her alone. I play on my phone. Tomorrow, school will be in session. But for now, I let her sleep in.
