Snail Brother and Missy Turtle
Snail Brother decided to walk past the mushroom grove
His friend Missy Turtle came along. She smelled like clove.
Have you been baking? He asked, with a wide smile.
Her famous cookies they could munch on for a mile.
Missy admitted she had brought a bit of food with her.
She liked Snail brother, so she shared her gingerbread pure.
They walked and they talked, and took a nap under an oak.
When they woke, they told a riddle, sang a song, and shared a joke.
The Snail and the Turtle, friends now, and probably forever.
Never got into an argument, and I mean truly – never.
They were friends for sixty years, two months and a day.
When angels whisked them together, to heaven, to play.
