Smoke Filled Skies
Fires are ragging, chasing humans and wild life.
Smoke-filled skies are shading the sun.
Particulates threaten our lungs and
fill our teary and weary eyes.
Evacuation orders are honored, and people are reaching out to people. Loss of life is greatly minimized, and things we value are prioritized.
Paradise, Greenville, and Grizzly Flats. So much loss, devastation, and despair.
I pray for emotions, tossed, tangled, and torn.
Let there be less debate about climate change.
May we all pitch in to stop the burning and pain.
If only the rain would fall and stall the drought. May God bless the many hard-working fire fighters.
