Smitten with Kittens
By M. Griswold
06252019
My doggie had kittens just the other day.
How it happened I just can’t exactly say.
It happened underneath my front porch there.
When I found them all I could do is just stare.
Never before has this ever occurred.
To all others it sounds fully absurd.
But I’m telling the truth that I can’t deny.
Because I’ve seen it with my very eye.
Mom was amazed doggie had been smitten.
With no less than a bunch of baby kittens.
She couldn’t understand how this happened.
So to the neighbors she went around knock’in.
When my Mom returned to our house and me.
She had the answer to the kitty question that be.
You see, li’l Tommy’s cat was getting really fat.
Then turned up one day and her sides were flat.
She came to our house because it felt just right.
Then gave birth in the middle of the dark night.
As it turns out, doggie was only there baby sit’in.
Li’l Tommy’s cat’s new family of li'l kittens.
