Smile and Tears
Over the tree
birds are free
flying high
up the sky
with wings flapped
like hands clapped
sounding loud
above the cloud.
Somewhere out there birds are crying
for the trees are dying
and the land where they dwell
and like a tragic spell
the lands too are barren
like the distant mountain
finding hope from the rain
to shed a tear like a fountain.
