Smile
Smile my darling, for everything will be okay,
Little do they know of the things I say,
Smile my darling, for everything has a purpose,
Little do they know how I live in the grey,
Wide eyes, painted smile,
Closed eyes, broken smile,
Wide eyes, fake the happy,
Closed eyes, falling tears,
Smile my darling, for you don’t know what is around the corner,
How to smile when the only thing around the corner is black,
Smile my darling, for one day you will find love,
No reason to smile when love isn’t real,
Truth revealed and demons screaming,
Hearts broken and trust dissolved,
Eyes drowned and lungs starved,
Resolve leaving, Spirit stripped,
Smile my darling, for I am here,
Smile my darling, for I love you,
No more tears shed for I will hold your hand,
No more broken dreams for I am your glue,
Tears shed for you know nothing,
Tears shed for you spout naught but lies,
Screams hidden for you pretend to love,
Heartbroken as you prepare to leave,
Bags packed, eyes avoiding,
Heart cold to the touch of love,
No tears shed, no smiled shared,
You lied, I believed, we died.
Empty silence, violent silence,
Broken hearted dreams,
Hands empty, cold, broken,
Tears shed for you were never here to begin with.
