Small Vase

Username: "Small vase" signifying my new start fresh, sweet, delicate plucking fresh new words from an overgrown conscience must contain myself what can I offer in my spiritual bouquet my thoughts, hopes, dreams, prayers blue forget-me-nots fit in with the small bouquet forget me not, too ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Inspired to re-join Poetry Soup today by reading this: "In the wide garden, I am dizzy with flowers. I choose a small vase." ~Author's note by Andrew Clements for his children's poetry picture book "Dogku" He writes, "That's what a haiku is like -- like a small vase, a small container. Choosing a small container can help you pick the perfect words and arrange them just right. And why did I write this picture book using haiku? Because a picture book is also a small container -- not many pages, not many words. Adorable dog + haiku = Dogku. Simple." (Clements, Andrew. Dogku. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. New York, 2007).
