Slowly Parting

Slowly Parting

Tonight I waited for you,
You were gone it seems.
The smile I once knew so well,
I’ll see only in my dreams.

Though you have gone away tonight,
Your love I will never forget.
That’s why, my love, I wait for you,
You haven’t shown up yet.

I’ll never forget your kisses,
Because tonight I need them so.
I stand duty here on the ship,
My head bowed very low.

My prayers have not been answered,
Because you’re alone as I.
We’ll go our separate ways,
Never again to say goodbye.
