Slowly I Step

Slowly I step

From afar I saw your face with faltering steps like walking on ice, day by day I took to get close to you. Stored up my courage till the day I could speak, told you my name and with a simple reply my mind was blown away.

Mind games others may play, but truth from me you will always hear, for I know what its like to be deceived no child at play a man not a boy you is all will see.

All the seasons the weeks and months I will be at your beck and call: the choirs sound of your voice on my phone the call I long to hear.

Tentatively I reach out my heart to you in your arms take me please, in my eyes you will see the dream and hope as your friend one day more you will let me be.

Let us watch the moon arise as the sun sets on a love just begun, and like a seed into a tree big and strong, from my slow steps two becomes one.
