Slow Motion Tear

One slow motion jagged tear
found me after you left me here.
Its wetness sits still upon my face
as I stare at absolutely no place.

What I do live and what I dream
and all sundries fitting in between,
now struggle in a frenzied dance
passing thru, in and out, this circumstance.

My brain is mush circling a clueless groove.
Surely, I need an enlightened next move.
Calm failed to enter when you shut the door,
and life as I knew it quit being anymore.

I simply cannot find my identity.
Maybe it left with you and my clarity.
I seek to ease a primal urge to shout
at frenzied thoughts dashing about.

Perhaps I knew years had grown weeds
while I prayed for fertilized love seeds.
Perhaps I knew time long held this bleed
while I prayed true love would succeed.

Perhaps my heart just died in your stampede.

You managed to tell me all the sadness in you in this poem, I didn't read the words, I felt the emotions. Congratulations my friend.

CayCay I think this is my poor daughter is feeling right now. I know you are happy and this is a reflection of the past. A very well written emotive piece. I am assuming it is for a contest? If so, this should do well. ; ) 7

gosh, so emotive and so deep, Caycay. I think I know who it is but maybe I am wrong. Very good writing on a difficult topic. It is so sincere, just like your courage poem which I shall go revisit right NOW

Well written rhyme...I think many identify with this in their lives...afraid to stay the same...afraid to change. We writers are fortunate that we can "bleed" those moments onto paper:)

I hope it was the desire to succeed, but at what I'm not sure. Digging up bones was never my favorite. Some things, I have to leave buried. A deep write, CayCay.

I found your warm Christmas wishes and gladly received them. We are ready and in the mood, it is fun with Kyle here. I want joy to pour down, an absolute drenching, upon you and your home - I've ordered it, but it may be on back order. Such things are tricky. Thank you for reading and much else. All the best ... YES I'm better than good with my coupling! The point was those wasted years of staying in place because people prefer the hell they know to one they don't and various other fears. I wish you a very Merry Christmas, too! We are going to Mom's on the 24th and staying until the 26th and my mood is getting more and more excited about sharing yet another Christmas with 3 people I love most. May joy find you and keep on Christmas day ... CayCay

Tis quite simple - Life is like a game of poker: The higher the stakes and the more you put into the pot...The harder it is to fold! Your poem strikes a chord with us all, methinks. May I take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful Christmas, CayCay...And a happy New Year! My warmest regards and very best wishes...As always of course. :) john

Awesome poem CayCay ! We are so confused after a break up. I was divorced 20 years ago and still don't know why.

I don't know whether to laugh or frown, so I did both! Thank you so much for sharing your 'poem reaction' with me. Sometimes I'm sure that confused should be middle name! All the best, Bruce ... CayCay
