Slow Down Momma
Slow down Momma, I know it's hard,
but these are the times you'll miss by far.
Slow down Momma, the days may seem long,
but remember your children need you to be strong.
One more car seat to go, one more "terrible two's",
but you can enjoy these moments should you choose.
We push for the next chapter sometimes just trying to survive,
but slow down Momma, because time sure flies.
If I can just get them out of diapers, if I can get them potty trained;
if I can just get some sleep, all the mommas exclaimed.
Once they start walking, once they can buckle themselves,
once they can pour their own milk and reach the top shelves.
I know this current season may seem a little rough,
but slow down Momma, those days will come soon enough.
This house is a wreck, there's dirty clothes galore;
but you'll find it's the mess you will miss even more.
The noise will stop, the car will grow empty;
the house perfectly clean, there will be sleep a plenty.
So slow down Momma, just stay in the moment,
enjoy the screaming and the car seat opponent.
God has given you a gift, it's called by a mother;
just remember you know best for them like no other.
Through the trails and hard times, God is strengthening you.
You'll look back and see just how much you grew.
Your children are a blessing, strong and pure.
God promises through the hard times you will endure.
So stay in the moment Momma, love every minute;
whether good or bad, you are in it to win it.
