Slow Dance

"I'll never stop loving you"
That's what he said
The day we were wed
It lasted for a year or two
Until he said we're through
He still comes around
But between us, not even a sound
I don't know what happened or why
But everyday I cry
We are still married
Even though the feelings are buried
We stay together for the kids
Although common sense forbids
I still love him very much
And I long for his touch
I can see in his eyes
That he too cries
I can see he still loves me
I remember the day he got on one knee
It's thoughts like these
That make me want to say please
Please, I beg with all my heart
I can't stand to be apart
I ask you to come back into my life
So I can again be your wife.
