Sliver

Sliver of Moon

Driving home from work
on a hot, August night
the sliver of moon in the sky
never looked so bright.

It looked close enough to touch
hanging so low in the sky,
making me wish I had my camera
to capture its radiance by.

This was the perfect ending
to a long work night,
this perfect sliver of moon
in a flawless sky so bright.

Sidney Beck August 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM yeah, I love moon stuff too...a never ending variety with shape and brightness and mythology...great stuff here Francine (by the way I've always been disappointed at cameras in relation to the moon..it always comes out as a tiny tiny dot ).....a nice poem....best wishes Syd
